Peugeot News - RCZ - DRIVEN!

Its a Peugeot... honest!

DATE: APRIL 26TH   PLACE: WREXHAM   EVENT: RCZ PREVIEW EVENING

At a special pre-launch event for the new RCZ, we’ve been able to drive it for the first time. Here are our first impressions…

Looks

Everyone who sees it in the metal for the first time says “wow”. It has real road presence and a very wide, very surefooted stance – from the rear it’s particularly low and squat. The ‘double-bubble’ roof is gorgeous and quite how they’ve managed to make the glass curve so much is a miracle. Sitting on 19” wheels, this one looks particularly mean.

Interior

Nice. Well-built, nicely-finished, and everything easy to see/reach/use. Very comfortable front seats but, to be honest, rear seats are for dire emergencies or people you don’t like. However, the rear seat back folds to reveal a huge loadspace. Massive boot, too.

Performance

This is a 1.6 (petrol) Turbo and it goes very well – plenty of power yet refined and smooth. Despite being abused by leaden-footed dealership staff for 1200 miles, it’s showing an average economy of 37mpg – not bad! Mid-40’s should be easily achievable for normal drivers!
