Car scrappage: the details
Q. What is the car scrappage scheme?
Introduced in April’s Budget, the car scrappage scheme means a £2,000 saving for owners who scrap their vehicles of 10 years and older and buy a brand new car.
Participation in the scheme by car dealers is voluntary – and you’ll be pleased to know that the vast majority of Peugeot Dealers are onboard.
Q. Do I qualify for the discount?
Your car or LCV (up to 3.5 tonnes) must have been registered before February 2000, be registered with the DVLA, have a current MOT test certificate and have been registered to you for 12 continuous months.
Q. What are the benefits?
The ‘peace of mind’ benefits that come with a new car include improved reliability and safety, reduced running costs and better fuel economy.
Q. How will it work?
Customers will receive £1,000 from the government and another £1,000 from the car dealer. Coupled with Peugeot’s great scrappage offers, there’s never been a better time to buy a new car.
Q. How can I get my car scrapped?
Simply take your old car to your participating Peugeot Dealer, and they will take care of everything for you.

Scrap your old car and get a great deal on a brand new Peugeot

Q. Why has it been introduced?
It is intended to boost the UK car industry, which has been hard hit by the global recession. Similar car scrappage programmes have already been successfully launched in other European markets including Germany and France.
Q. Can I benefit from any other offers?
Of course. Peugeot has some great offers on its summer line-up. And this means together with the £2,000 scrappage incentive, you could save thousands on a brand new Peugeot.
Q. What are the funding options?
Peugeot’s flexible Passport package allows you to change your car frequently and gives you a number of options at the end of the contract. It also means you can keep monthly payments on a new car to a minimum.
Q. How do I find out more about Peugeot’s range?
Peugeot has a fantastic range of cars – from the nippy 107 to the popular 207 and record-breaking 308. It is also committed to lowering CO2 across its range, topping the European sales of low emission vehicles in 2008**. New figures show one in every six new vehicles sold in Europe and the UK with emissions of less than 121g/km of CO2 was a Peugeot.
So why not turn your rust into lust with a brand new Peugeot… and find out how much you could save. For full details – including great deals on Peugeot’s 107, 207 and 308 ranges – visit our scrappage offers section.
